Phone Munshi Terms of Service

Service description

Phone Munshi answers calls that a tradesman cannot take. Calls forwarded from his number are answered by the Phone Munshi AI agent, which speaks to the caller, works out what job is needed, proposes a time and a price, and sends the job to the tradesman for confirmation. It can also follow up with the caller on WhatsApp and send a payment link for a confirmed job.

Who these Terms apply to

These Terms apply to the tradesman who subscribes to Phone Munshi. Callers who reach the AI agent are engaging the tradesman for work; their contract for the work is with him, not with Sonkawade Labs. Sonkawade Labs is not a marketplace, does not introduce customers, and does not perform any trade work.

Call forwarding

• You set up call forwarding on your own number with your telecom operator so that unanswered, busy or unreachable calls reach the AI agent. You are responsible for enabling it, keeping it active, and turning it off if you stop using the service.
• Your telecom operator may charge for forwarded calls. Those charges are between you and your operator and are not paid to or collected by Sonkawade Labs.
• Forwarding depends on your operator's network. We do not guarantee that every unanswered call will be forwarded or answered — calls can fail for reasons outside our control, including network outages, operator restrictions, and a handset that is switched off in a way that blocks forwarding.
• You must only forward a number that you are entitled to use.

Consent to recording

Calls answered by the AI agent are recorded and transcribed. The assistant identifies itself as automated and informs the caller at the start of the call. By enabling call forwarding to Phone Munshi you authorise this recording on your behalf and confirm you are entitled to do so for calls made to your number.

What the AI agent may and may not do

• The agent takes down the job, proposes a slot and a price from the rates you have configured, and passes it to you.
• No job is booked without your confirmation. A time or price mentioned to a caller is an indication based on your configured rates, not a binding quotation or an accepted contract, until you confirm it.
• The agent does not commit you to work outside your configured services, and does not give legal, safety, medical or financial advice.
• You remain responsible for the work you accept, for its quality and safety, and for honouring or declining what the agent has proposed.

Automated conversation

The agent speaks automatically and may mishear, misunderstand or record a detail wrongly, particularly on a poor line. Check the job details before you confirm. Sonkawade Labs does not warrant that any transcript or job detail is accurate and is not liable for work accepted or lost on the strength of one.

Acceptable use

• Use Phone Munshi only for genuine enquiries about trade services you are lawfully able to provide.
• Do not use it for unlawful, misleading, fraudulent or deceptive activity, or to impersonate another business.
• Do not use it to make outbound marketing or nuisance calls, or to message people who have not contacted you.
• Do not attempt to reverse engineer, resell, or bypass licensing, rate limits or security controls.
• Do not use it in a way that interferes with telecom networks, WhatsApp, our infrastructure, or other customers.

Job and earnings figures

Counts of calls answered and work booked that Phone Munshi shows you are a record of what passed through the service. They are not a guarantee of future work, income, or of business you would otherwise have lost.

Availability

Phone Munshi is provided on an as-available basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free output, or the continuous availability of third-party services such as hosting, messaging platforms, telecom operators, payment services or AI providers.

Fees

Pricing for Phone Munshi has not yet been published. The product is not available for purchase, and no amount is charged for it, until rates are published on the Pricing page. When it does go on sale, payments will be collected in INR through our payment partner Cashfree Payments and the Refund & Cancellation Policy will apply.

Intellectual property

Phone Munshi, its software, workflows, prompts, design and branding remain the property of Sonkawade Labs, except where ownership is required by law for content you supply.

Termination

Sonkawade Labs may suspend or restrict access if Phone Munshi is used in violation of these Terms, for abuse prevention, or to comply with legal obligations. You may stop using the service at any time.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sonkawade Labs is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of Phone Munshi, and its total liability for any claim relating to Phone Munshi is limited to the amount you paid for the service (if any) in the three months preceding the claim.

Data protection and your responsibilities

How personal data is handled is set out in the Phone Munshi Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Where you use Phone Munshi to handle other people's personal data, you are the data fiduciary for that data and Sonkawade Labs is the data processor acting on your instructions; you are responsible for having a lawful basis, giving those people the notice they are owed, and obtaining any consent required under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Subject to any mandatory law, the courts at Latur, Maharashtra, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes relating to these Terms or to Phone Munshi.

Changes to these Terms

Sonkawade Labs may update these Terms from time to time. Updated versions are posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of Phone Munshi after an update means the revised Terms apply to the extent permitted by law.
